A New Company Where Writers Get to Write Freely?! VisualArtsScripts Arrives with Three New Works!

VISUAL ARTS Scripts, a new company under VISUAL ARTS, has just launched its official website and announced plans for three works all at once.

According to the Steam store page and the just-published tweets, the first title, 咲夜叙-妖刀的约定- (Sakuya Jo - The Cursed Blade's Promise -), will support Chinese/Japanese, with a physical edition slated for release in 2026; the Steam release date will be announced separately.

The scenario is handled by up-and-coming writer 山夜みい, whose representative work is 《恶役圣女的やり直し～冤罪で処刑された圣女は推しの英雄を救うために我慢をやめます～》.

Character design is by りいちゅ, the illustrator of The Shut-in Vampire Princess's Heartache, and judging from the visuals, it's something to look forward to.

Story Summary

"If things go on like this, you will die in seven days." Takamori Touya, once a kendo boy, accidentally breaks the seal of a forbidden shrine and encounters a girl holding a Japanese sword—Sakuya. As a sword enthusiast, he can't help but touch that blade...

However, it turns out to be a cursed sword that stirs murderous impulses in its wielder. What saves him is—Sakuya's kiss!? "Please join me and destroy the demon blade."

Sakuya's kiss is a special kiss that can lift curses. The two begin living under the same roof, deepening their bond while battling yokai carrying demon blades.

And yet, before they know it, the very meaning of "kissing" begins to change...? Becoming a demon-blade wielder, kissed again and again by beautiful girls—an unforgettable romance experience begins here.

A shrine maiden from the Heian era, charged with sealing the demon blade.

She is endlessly curious about everything, and to understand modern society, she even studies books through the night.

Acting by Heian-era common sense, she often interprets Touya's words in a completely different direction.

She loves sweets, and when excited she exclaims:

"How refined!"

Takamori Touya

"Everything that makes you cry—I'll smash it all."

A student who was once the ace of the kendo club, but left due to injury; he now lives days without finding anything enjoyable.

He adored his grandfather, and traces of his grandfather's teachings show in his every word and deed.

A sword enthusiast, he stepped into the shrine sealing the demon blade because he was drawn to a Japanese sword.

Rinko

"Things I like? Money, and my little brother."

Captain of the student archery club, first in her grade in mock exams, a beautiful older sister with a model's figure.

She is Touya's older sister, and with their parents busy at work, she has always taken care of her little brother.

She loves money and hates waste;

but when it comes to her little brother, she becomes a bit of a goofball.

A cursed sword + kiss-borne curse-lifting + living together and fighting—how is this "up-and-coming writer" still playing on a legacy server?

Judging from this old-school light-novel-adaptation-flavored plot and the perfunctory store page, it's really hard to feel any sincerity from VISUAL ARTS.

Game Synopsis

One hundred years have passed since that great fire—.

A cluster of illegally built structures, left abandoned with its charred remains intact, is known as the "Iron Circuit Fortress."

Archaeologist ユウマ＝クゼ, commissioned to investigate, encounters a mysterious girl within the fortress—ハイカ.

She says—"I am here, searching for a treasure to wish for death with."

The mysteries of the fortress, the hidden treasure, the truth about ハイカ... all of it will be connected together.

Game Synopsis

Showa 44. It was the July of Apollo's moon landing.

Jinbocho, Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo. In a used-book district that preserves the look of old times, I met her.

The world was ablaze with space fever, but I never once heard her bring up the topic.

Paying no mind to the night sky, she searched everywhere with sharp eyes for a single book—

ニーチェ's 《ヴァーンズィン》, a phantom rare book whose very existence cannot even be confirmed.

These three works differ wildly in style, but looking at the producer's message, it all makes sense—

Simply put, VISUAL ARTS Scripts is a project founded so that scenario writers can write to their heart's content.
