Kure Ichirou's Ghost Story After Ten Years — MOONSTONE's Completely New Title Locked in for June Release!
MOONSTONE recently opened the official websites for its latest titles, ストレイ・シープと死者の声Vol.1 and ストレイ・シープと死人の恋 Vol.2, and announced that Vol.1 will be released on June 26, 2026, with Vol.2 also due out in mid-2026.
Somewhat regrettably, these two works are not full-price titles; rather, one full-price title has been split into two parts.
The physical edition is priced at 5,170 yen and the download edition at 4,700 yen, with both parts identically priced. All prices include tax.

What is the ストレイ・シープ series?
This is MOONSTONE's first completely new title in ten years.
"Hey you, do you even have any drive?!"
—Yes, in fact, we do.
This work will consist of two parts.
The first part depicts the exploits of a psychic detective,
while the second part will unveil the protagonist's long-hidden past.
This is a story of lost souls finding salvation and new life.
Look forward to a plot development laced with thriller and horror elements.
Story Synopsis
Shinjuku—a pleasure district known worldwide,
and the final destination to which the lost drift.
But that is merely its surface face.
Peel away the mask of reality, and what lies within is—
psychic killers and inhuman monsters stirring in the shadows.
Only those with psychic powers can glimpse the world beyond reality—
and the protagonist, Harukawa Jin, possesses such power.
Jin runs a detective agency alone in Shinjuku,
but by chance he is targeted by a killer and nearly loses his life.
This becomes the catalyst that pulls him, whether he likes it or not, into that dark and deep world...
An unending string of incidents, and several fated encounters.
After going through it all, the protagonist will finally face his true self—a self even he has forgotten.
Stray sheep (ストレイ・シープ)—that is, those who have lost their way.
This psychic detective of Shinjuku is himself a lost soul too.
Character Introductions
She was originally the death angel アズライール,
who once worked in partnership with グリエール.
To save the protagonist's life, she chose to take on flesh and descend to the human world.
After becoming human, she took up residence in the protagonist's home, which doubles as his office,
becoming an assistant-like presence who helps with detective work.
She is a cheerful and gentle girl.

She has a home but hardly ever returns to it,
living outdoors centered on the "Tokyo-Yokohama" area.
The reason is that she knows her mother's true identity is in fact a killer.
Perhaps due to these circumstances, she is extremely skilled at lying.
She can flash a beaming smile even when she isn't happy.
Though somewhat cold by nature, she has a kind side toward her friends.
She met the protagonist by chance,
and then moved into his home, which doubles as his office.

Ordinarily she is a university student,
but that is merely a false identity to keep up appearances.
Her true identity is "demon-subduing ninja リン".
As a demon-subduing psychic,
she devotes herself to rooting out the evil oni stirring in the world of night.
In the past, at the critical moment of an oni attack, she was saved by the protagonist.
Since then, she has harbored feelings of love for him,
but her serious, by-the-book nature keeps her from ever expressing her feelings honestly.

She was the protagonist's first love, dating back to when he still lived in his hometown.
Perhaps she was his "destined one".
But one day, she suddenly vanished without a trace,
and has been completely out of contact ever since.

She was once active as a street musician.
She was tragically murdered by someone unknown,
and has remained by the protagonist's side in the form of a ghost.
The protagonist, using his psychic powers,
rushes about every night trying to find her true killer.

She partners with アズライール (Rui), working together as "death angels".
Unlike the easygoing Rui, she is a steady, level-headed person.
Though their personalities differ greatly, they get along well,
and she occasionally comes to check on Rui, who lives as a human.

Though he possesses psychic powers beyond ordinary people, he was at first just an unknown small-time detective.
